The Video Campaign contextualizes the issue of organized (political) control over people by focusing entirely on mapping those elements that are directly involved in establishing that
control.
The title Campaign organizes the field of perception and provides a framework. The name suggests that the projected images represent a struggle for a certain strategic goal
and refers to election campaigns. thay are an interesting segment of political marketing and, like any marketing segment, relies heavily on manipulation and deception of people.
The video, like the strategy of deception we are witnessing, does not have a clear structure. He is able to constantly change. It can be interrupted anywhere and relies entirely on
the atmosphere.
I select and use the found image. by removing it from the original context, I load a new level of meaning with a simple approach. Combining the impression of a completed action with the structure of repetition and not bringing the action to an end video fully exploit the potential that the moment of anticipation offers.
The cut I make vs. original shot is change of focus. By that, I mean thet I map only those details that are interesting to me. The change of focus conditioned the change of resolution. The bad image, in the case of this work, has a dual role. It clearly testifies to the appropriation of the video (indicating its history). At the same time poor quality symbolizes the essence that enables this organized control over people, and that is the inability to realize at a given moment that they are deceived by beautiful suits and established procedures.
They were deceived by a spectacular political campaign. The spectacle, as the leading cultural phenomenon of the modern age, successfully defends that title.
