The project Tomb of the pixalated&7011 problematizes digitization and further the problem of original and copy, as well as the question of authorship, by placing two images in relation.
The first image is a copy of a digital image (hand pixel by pixel digitally drawn) of the artwork for the album cover of the American band Cannibal Corpse, Tomb of the mutilated from 1992, and the second image is also digital and represents 7011 different shades of color used in the digital drawing the first picture. The copy is transformed into an original that is non-identical.
Tomb of the pixalated thus becomes an original that only 7011 confirms.
