The project problematizes the concept of the public domain, pointing to the way in which cultural symbols such as Mickey Mouse can be reinterpreted and used in new contexts.
Through the addition of cropped ears, the work THROUGH irony and provokes reflection on identity and ownership within cultural and economic frameworks. At the same time, the intervention engages in a critique of the capitalist machinery exploring how artistic expressions can be used to comment on the wider social and economic context.
This combination of elements invites viewers to question their perceptions of art, consumer culture, and how symbols are transmitted through time and space AND TAKE OVER.
